The challenge and goals

Until now, many processes in product data maintenance at NÄVE were relatively decentralized. Much of the data was stored internally, while only the most commonly used data ended up in a single platform in a classic folder structure.

Similarly, there were no standardized workflows — with corresponding disadvantages in efficiency and data quality. To change this, initial adjustments to the work structures were implemented, and fixed workflows were established even before a PIM solution was introduced.

In addition, Microsoft Teams helped make important information and data centrally available. The cloud-based Contentserv solution was chosen to consolidate this structural change and significantly contribute to quality assurance — transparent rights management and by making incomplete entries impossible. The company also expects to save a lot of time on product data maintenance by eliminating manual processes.

The situation
  • Product information was mapped in a classic folder structure — yet data was stored separately within different departments
  • There were hardly any uniform workflows in product data maintenance and no sufficient quality assurance
  • Product information often had to be transferred manually to the web portals of the sales partners, which took up an unnecessarily large amount of time

  • Establish the PIM/DAM solution as the central and lead system for all essential product information data while pricing continues to be mapped in the ERP system
  • Consistent, accurate and complete master data maintenance — supported by fixed workflows for quality assurance
  • Develop efficient processes for transmitting product information directly to channel partners’ systems in the appropriate format
  • Automate the creation of product data sheets in the required local language
  • Use PIM to create optimal conditions for the development of a proper web store to increase B2C sales
